Eti-Tech AG — Legal Information — Last updated 8 October 2026
Investing in crypto-assets involves significant risk. The value of crypto-assets can rise as well as fall and you may lose your entire investment. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Eti-Tech AG is a VQF SRO member and a Swiss VASP. Nothing in this communication constitutes investment advice, a solicitation, or an offer.
This Risk Disclosure Statement describes the principal risks associated with the products and services offered by Eti-Tech AG (“Eti-Tech”, “we”, “us”), a Swiss-incorporated Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) and VQF SRO Member (VQF No. 101108, UID CHE-325.745.023), headquartered in Bottighofen, Thurgau, Switzerland.
It applies to all products and services made available via the Eti-Tech platform from time to time, including conversion services (onramp, offramp and swap), wallet services and peer-to-peer (P2P) merchant services. It is intended to help you make an informed decision — it does not describe every possible risk, is not exhaustive, and is not a substitute for independent professional advice.
Nothing in this Statement, on the Eti-Tech platform, or in any Eti-Tech communication constitutes investment advice, a personal recommendation, a solicitation, or an offer to buy or sell any crypto-asset. You are solely responsible for your own decisions. If you are uncertain whether a transaction is suitable for you, seek independent financial, legal, or tax advice before proceeding.
The value of crypto-assets can rise and fall significantly and unpredictably, sometimes within very short periods of time. Prices are influenced by market sentiment, liquidity, regulatory developments, technological change, and macroeconomic conditions, many of which are outside Eti-Tech's control. Past performance of any crypto-asset is not a reliable indicator of future results.
You may lose part or all of the value you convert, transfer, or hold via the platform. Crypto-assets carry a materially higher risk of total loss than many traditional financial instruments. Never transact with funds you cannot afford to lose.
Crypto-assets held or transacted via the Eti-Tech platform are not covered by Swiss banking deposit insurance (esisuisse) or any equivalent scheme in any other jurisdiction. Eti-Tech is not a bank and does not offer banking-grade deposit protection of any kind. Pending settlement claims (amounts you have paid, or crypto-assets you have delivered, for an order that has not yet been settled) are contractual claims against Eti-Tech and are likewise not protected.
Eti-Tech AG is a VQF SRO Member, acting as a financial intermediary (Virtual Asset Service Provider, VASP) in Switzerland, and operates under Swiss anti-money laundering law (AMLA) and VQF Regulations. The VQF is a self-regulatory organisation recognised by FINMA. VQF membership means Eti-Tech is subject to VQF supervision under this FINMA-recognised framework; it does not mean that Eti-Tech is directly licensed, approved, or supervised by FINMA.
Eti-Tech is not authorised under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and does not passport services into the EU/EEA. Where clients in the EEA access the platform, they do so on a reverse-solicitation basis only, see Section 13.
Your wallet is self-custodial. It is created for you through our third-party wallet infrastructure provider; its private key is split into encrypted key shares held on separate infrastructure. Eti-Tech holds no key share, recovery share or signing permission and does not hold your crypto-assets in custody. Wallet operations require an authenticated session of your Eti-Tech account, and Eti-Tech has implemented technical and organisational measures to prevent operations without your participation. You can view and export your private key at any time; if you do, you are solely responsible for keeping it secure. Anyone who obtains your private key or access to your account can move your crypto-assets, and a transaction confirmed on-chain cannot be reversed.
Between receiving your payment or crypto-assets for an order and settling that order, you hold a contractual claim against Eti-Tech for delivery of the output of that order (pending settlement claim). During this period, no crypto-assets or funds are held separately on your behalf. This claim is unsecured: if Eti-Tech became insolvent before settlement, you would rank as an ordinary creditor. Section 7.6 of our General Terms and Conditions describes this in detail.
Crypto-asset transactions are recorded on distributed ledgers (blockchains) and, once confirmed, are generally irreversible. Sending assets to an incorrect address, or falling victim to phishing, malware, or social engineering, may result in permanent loss with no means of recovery. Blockchain networks, smart contracts, and third-party infrastructure may also contain bugs or vulnerabilities, or be subject to attacks outside Eti-Tech's control.
Some crypto-assets may be difficult to convert or sell at a given time, or only at an unfavourable price, particularly during periods of high volatility or low trading volume.
Stablecoins such as Tether (USDT) aim to maintain a stable value against a reference asset (e.g. the US dollar) but can lose that peg, temporarily or permanently. Their value depends on the issuer's reserves, solvency and redemption policies and on its regulatory status, none of which Eti-Tech controls. Stablecoins are not legal tender or bank deposits, and issuers can freeze tokens held at specific addresses, making them unusable.
Certain services (for example, peer-to-peer platforms and their escrow mechanisms, banking and payment partners, liquidity providers or our wallet infrastructure provider) may involve independent third-party counterparties or infrastructure providers. While Eti-Tech applies due diligence to the partners it works with, Eti-Tech is not responsible for the acts or omissions of independent third parties. Details are set out in our General Terms and Conditions (Sections 5.3 and 12).
The legal and regulatory treatment of crypto-assets is evolving and differs across jurisdictions. Changes in law, regulatory guidance, or enforcement practice, in Switzerland or elsewhere, may affect the availability, functionality, or value of the services described here, without notice.
Eti-Tech's services are directed at clients in Switzerland. Access by clients in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions is on a reverse-solicitation basis only, where permitted, and is not an active offer or solicitation by Eti-Tech into those markets. Eti-Tech does not accept US persons as clients. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of the platform complies with the laws applicable to you. Nothing on this page or elsewhere on the Eti-Tech platform should be read as an invitation to residents of a jurisdiction where our services are not available.
The tax treatment of crypto-asset transactions depends on your personal circumstances and jurisdiction, and may change. Eti-Tech does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified, independent tax adviser regarding your own obligations.
No representation is made, and none should be inferred, regarding the future performance of any crypto-asset. Eti-Tech does not offer guaranteed, fixed, risk-free, or insured returns of any kind.
